Zhivko Todorov

Mayor of the Municipality of Stara Zagora

Mr. Zhivko Todorov was born on September 21, 1981 in Stara Zagora.

He graduated from the Foreign Language School Romains Rolland with English (major language) and Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’, major ‘European Studies’. He has worked as an expert in preparing applications and management of projects within EU programs.

In 2009, Mr. Todorov was elected a Member of the National Assembly of Bulgaria from Political Party GERB, 27th Stara Zagora constituency. From July 29, 2009 to May 5, 2010, he was a deputy chairperson and chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Policy and Defense Committee. From September 4, 2009 to January 26, 2011, he was head of the Permanent Delegation of the National Assembly in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Member of the Executive Committee of Political party GERB.

On October 30, 2011, Zhivko Todorov was elected Mayor of Municipality of Stara Zagora nominated by PP GERB, re-elected for a second term in 2015.

He is a member of the Bulgarian delegation for the Committee of the Regions.
